New York, NY – September 29, 2025 – Professor Dana York, DDS, MS, PhD, an award-winning professor, doctor, artist, and humanitarian, has officially entered the 2025 New York City mayoral race as an independent candidate.
York currently serves as President of the Lions Club New York Agape Foundation and the nonprofit EMLA INC 501(c)(3). She is also a member of the Graduate Academy of Distinguished Educators at NYU, and an internationally recognized artist with works exhibited at the Louvre and other prestigious institutions.
“I am not a career politician,” said York. “I am a New Yorker who has lived, worked, and served here for decades. My campaign is about restoring dignity in governance, fiscal responsibility without elitism, and a compassionate, practical approach to rebuilding public life in our city.”
Key Priorities
– Public Safety & Cleanliness: Tackling drugs, restoring order, and implementing citywide cleaning and beautification initiatives.
– Housing & Education: Fast-tracking affordable housing with federal grants and opening free public computer centers for learning and online education.
– Compassionate Services: Expanding support for the homeless, single mothers, and veterans with community-based solutions.
– Economic Opportunity: Job creation in cleaning, infrastructure, technology, and the arts while supporting immigrants, families, and recent graduates.
– Cultural Renewal: Promoting arts, music, and community spaces to revive New York’s spirit of joy and diversity.
York has pledged to donate 100% of the mayoral salary to charitable initiatives that strengthen intergenerational bonds and neighborhood connections.
