CA ANNOUNCES eTRUST IDENTITY AND ACCESS MANAGEMENT SUITE AVAILABILITY
CA EXTENDS LEADERSHIP IN IDENTITY AND ACCESS MANAGEMENT
WITH eTRUST IAM SUITE r8
Industry's Complete Portfolio of Integrated IAM Solutions
Sets New Standard for Secure, Cost-Efficient Business Enablement
Integrates Netegrity product line into eTrust IAM Suite
Brussels, February 14, 2005 - Computer Associates International, Inc. (NYSE:CA) today extends its leadership in the worldwide identity and access management (IAM) market with the delivery of eTrust Identity and Access Management r8 Suite, a complete set of integrated, modular IAM solutions. By streamlining and integrating all aspects of IAM, eTrust IAM r8 Suite uniquely enables customers to implement and automate effective management of users and their access to IT resources across today's complex, heterogeneous enterprise environments. eTrust Identity and Access Management Suite r8 will be available at the end of February.
This week, Computer Associates also unveils a strategic roadmap for a complete, integrated and open identity and access management (IAM) architecture that will empower IT organizations to better secure their environments and successfully cope with increased complexity and a growing number of internal and external end users.
The roadmap features an aggressive timeline for continued innovation in identity and access management, including important advances in federation, compliance and policy management - as well as continued development of technology acquired through the acquisition of Netegrity and the integration of the Netegrity product line into CA's industry-leading eTrust IAM Suite. CA is adding SAML 2.0 (Security Assertions Markup Language) support to eTrust SiteMinder, its web access management solution acquired with Netegrity, which played a lead role in the development and evolution of the SAML federation standard and the Identity and Access Management market.
In addition to SAML, eTrust SiteMinder supports Liberty Alliance ID-FF and has demonstrated federation interoperability with Microsoft. CA plans to continue to use eTrust SiteMinder as the basis for its future federation offerings.
IAM has become an increasingly critical issue as IT organizations attempt to manage access rights of a larger number and broader range of users - including employees, contractors, business partners and customers - to a larger number and broader range of resources - including legacy and distributed applications, databases, web services and intranet/extranet websites. The business value of these resources, combined with mounting cyber threats and regulatory pressures, make it essential for IT to execute core IAM tasks with flawless precision.
eTrust IAM effectively addresses this growing challenge by enabling a common set of policies and automated workflows to be applied to all aspects of identity management and access control - making CA the first security vendor to deliver such seamless out-of-the-box integration across multiple IAM components.
"Due to the complexity of integrating the components of IAM solutions, Gartner has seen a significant increase in interest by enterprises in product suites owned or licensed by, and supported through, one vendor, as opposed to point solutions," said Gartner research director Ray Wagner.
The four tightly-integrated modules in the eTrust IAM Suite share infrastructure components, utilize a common user interface, and provide unified controls and reporting. The modules include:
- eTrust Admin r8.1 for role-based identity provisioning/de-provisioning and password management
- eTrust Access Control r8 for enforcing role-based access privileges heterogeneous operating system platforms
- eTrust Single Sign-on r8 for simplifying password administration
- eTrust Directory r8 for managing identities and resources.
In addition to protecting corporate IT resources from unauthorized access and controlling the cost of IAM administration, eTrust IAM enables IT organizations to respond more quickly to authorization requests - thereby ensuring that IAM processes don't slow down the business.
"Fragmented, ineffective identity and access management is exposing businesses to unacceptable risk and creating operational inefficiencies that no IT organization can afford," said Bilhar Mann, CA's vice president of eTrust Identity and Access Management. "CA's eTrust IAM Suite r8 provides the answer to this problem by offering a cohesive, intuitively designed solution for intelligently managing the full range of IAM tasks and processes across even the most complex and heterogeneous enterprise environments."
In Belgium, CA's new eTrust IAM Suite will be showcased at infosecurity.be on March 23-24. Information is available on http://www.ca.com/be/infosecurity/index.htm.
